A title search requires examining various public records to determine the status of the title to the property. We review the land records at the Town or City Clerk’s office to identify mortgages, covenants, easements and other matters that will affect the title to your property. We will also examine state and municipal land use permits and records and check for notices of permit violations. After we complete the title search, we will prepare and issue a Report and Opinion on Title to you describing the results. If title issues are discovered, we will work with the attorney for the seller to resolve the issues.
